Winchester Thurston School
Reflects on King's Dream

Students at Winchester Thurston School were enthusiastically clapping and singing along to inspirational songs of unity and change during an insightful commemoration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Key Arts presented King’s Dream to an auditorium filled with attentive young viewers and teachers who participated in an engaging program featuring integrated video projection and thoughtful commentary encouraging kids to keep Dr. King’s dream of peace and equality alive by making a difference in their community.

Moving musical selections of songs like Amazing Grace, What’s Going On, and Blowin’ in the Wind, by vocalists Nathan Harmon and Tasha Montfort engaged the audience and promoted King’s message of collective activism for change. “We appreciate the positive comments we receive from the kids and teachers as they leave the auditorium,” recalls vocalist Nathan Harmon. “I was moved to tears and inspired by the program. I could feel a sense of unity in the auditorium,” a teacher recalls.

Students learned about Ruby Bridge, The Little Rock Nine, and other youngsters who stepped up and changed social norms in America.

Key Arts Productions’ mission is to produce engaging educational programming that inspires and encourages young people to become culturally aware, responsible global citizens.
